About

2022 Lafayette Civic Cup Honoree

Leonard K. “Lenny” Lemoine has spent more than 40 years as an executive and principal in construction management and contracting. As Chief Executive Officer of LEMOINE, he has guided the firm’s growth into a market leader in building construction, disaster response and recovery, and program management.

A graduate of Cottonport High School (1973) and Louisiana State University (B.S. Agriculture Business, 1979), Lenny began his career at Cottonport Lumber Company, his family’s retail lumber business. When the business transitioned into a general contracting and construction management firm in Lafayette, he helped develop operational systems that ensured steady growth and diversification—work that proved critical during the economic challenges of the 1980s. He became CEO in 2001 and has since led LEMOINE to national recognition.

Under Lenny’s leadership, LEMOINE has consistently earned top safety awards, holds a STEP Diamond Certification from Associated Builders & Contractors, and ranks among the Top 200 Contractors in the nation by Engineering News Record. The firm is also recognized as Louisiana’s leading general builder.

Known for his relationship-driven approach, Lenny has cultivated an 80% repeat customer base and championed company-wide leadership training and strategic planning initiatives. His commitment to excellence and innovation continues to shape the firm’s culture and success.

Lenny’s leadership and entrepreneurial impact have been recognized with numerous honors, including ABiz Magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year (2013), Ernst & Young’s Gulf Coast Entrepreneur of the Year (2018), and recognition as a National Cox Conserves Hero (2019).

Beyond business, Lenny is deeply committed to philanthropy. Through LEMOINE’s Built to Serve initiative, he supports causes that assist cancer patients, disadvantaged youth, and U.S. Armed Forces members. He played a pivotal role in launching AMIkids Acadiana, empowering at-risk youth to break cycles of poverty, and Bastion, a community supporting wounded veterans as they transition into civilian life. He also serves as Chairman of Lafayette Central Park, Inc., leading the creation of Moncus Park, a 100-acre central park in Lafayette.

Lenny has served on numerous boards, including the Community Foundation of Acadiana, UL Lafayette Foundation, Our Lady of Lourdes Foundation, St. Thomas More Catholic High School Foundation, and others. His industry leadership includes roles with the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) at both regional and national levels, as well as service on Louisiana’s Board of Commerce and Industry.

Lenny and his wife, Christine, have been married for more than 30 years. They have two children: Ryan, a West Point graduate, Army veteran, and Vice President at Bernhard Capital Partners; and Caroline, a University of Georgia graduate working with global design firm Gensler.
