Community Foundation of Acadiana is the trusted philanthropic leader and resource for donors and philanthropists, nonprofits, and community leaders in our region. The Foundation believes philanthropy is a catalyst for enhancing the quality of life in our communities - immediately and in perpetuity.
The Foundation focuses on connecting donors to community needs and opportunities and positively impacting our communities. As a neutral convener, the Foundation partners with individuals, families, corporations, other foundations and nonprofits, and state and local governments making lasting contributions to our communities. The Foundation's charitable outreach is broad: from granting over $11.5 million for hurricane disaster relief and recovery to supporting disadvantaged youth striving to overcome obstacles in challenging neighborhoods to transporting our revered World War II veterans to the National World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. to providing a vehicle to develop the Horse Farm initiative as a premier public green space to providing resources for the development of the Atakapas-Ishak Trail.
The Foundation has assets exceeding $57 million. Since inception in 2000, the Foundation has realized cumulative gifts of over $110 million and has made cumulative grants of over $58 million. The Foundation's primary service area includes the 8-parish region of south Louisiana including: Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermilion parishes. Donors can choose to direct their charitable dollars to any U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, church or school. The Foundation is a tax-exempt, non-profit, public charity.
Anyone can become an active philanthropist through the Foundation by starting a fund - no matter how big or small.
