Women With Heart, “The Power of the Purse”, Luncheon and Purse Auction –> United Way of Acadiana

The Women United Power of the Purse event is a signature gathering that celebrates the power of women coming together to strengthen our community. Hosted by Women United, an affinity group of United Way, this special event brings together leaders, advocates, and community partners who are passionate about creating opportunities for women and families to thrive.

Power of the Purse is more than a fundraiser—it is a celebration of philanthropy, leadership, and the incredible impact women have when they unite for a common purpose. Through this event, Women United supports programs and initiatives that promote financial stability, education, and opportunity for families across our region.

A highlight of the event is the recognition of two outstanding women from our community as Women of Distinction. These honorees are selected for their dedication to service and their lasting impact as community givers, leaders, and movers and shakers who continuously work to make our region a better place for everyone.

This year’s event will also feature an inspiring keynote address from Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America. A nationally respected leader and advocate, Claire has dedicated her career to fighting hunger and strengthening communities. Her work leading the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization reflects a deep commitment to service, compassion, and meaningful change.
