The Annual Red Bird Ministries Charity Golf Scramble

Red Bird Ministries, a Catholic grief support ministry serving families who have experienced the loss of a child, will host a charity golf tournament on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the historic Oakbourne Country Club.
The event will begin with check-in at 11:00 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m., bringing together community members, supporters, and local leaders for a day of fellowship, remembrance, and meaningful impact.
Founded in 1955, Oakbourne Country Club carries a rich legacy in the world of golf. The course hosted the Cajun Classic for 11 years as part of the PGA Tour, welcoming legendary champions such as Lionel Hebert, Jay Hebert, Billy Casper, Doug Sanders, and Miller Barber. The course has also seen iconic players including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Gary Player compete on its grounds, making it a fitting setting for a tournament rooted in both tradition and purpose.
Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit Red Bird Ministries’ mission to provide trauma-informed, faith-integrated support to families navigating miscarriage, stillbirth, and the loss of a child at any age. Through retreats, peer accompaniment, counseling, and parish-based formation, Red Bird Ministries walks with families in their deepest sorrow—offering not only support, but hope.
