Membership funds sustain the operations and administrative costs of the Foundation and support its growth. As the premier community-based philanthropic organization for Acadiana, membership funds represent a sound investment in your community. This investment was demonstrated initially by our Founders Society. Committing resources prior to the end of 2003, this exclusive group of visionaries recognized the value of Community Foundation of Acadiana and its benefit to the philanthropic health of our community. Recognizing the value of the Foundation our Patrons also committed resources to support the Foundation in its infancy.
Ongoing, Annual Membership affords existing fund donors another way to support the Foundation. Membership also gives donors not quite ready to establish a named fund an affordable way to be involved and participate in the activity of the Foundation. Members are recognized in Foundation print materials and will also receive our annual report. They will also be involved in Foundation events. Members can also serve on Foundation committees.
Membership is tax-deductible. Ninety-four percent (94%) is used to support on-going Foundation operating expenses; three percent (3%) is added to the Community Foundation Endowment Fund which generated unrestricted grant-making dollars; three percent (3%) is added to the Endowment Fund for the benefit of Community Foundation of Acadiana which generates dollars for the perpetual support of the Foundation.
