The administrative fee schedule applies to all funds at Community Foundation of Acadiana. Through economies of scale, the Foundation is able to charge minimal fees compared to the cost of establishing and maintaining a private foundation. This fee is used exclusively to support the operating expenses of Community Foundation of Acadiana – your investment in a public charity dedicated to making your charitable giving easy, flexible and rewarding.
Named Endowed and Non-Endowed Funds may be established with a minimum gift commitment of $10,000. Through the use of an Acorn Fund, the minimum gift commitment can be realized over time.
Donor-Advised, Corporate Charitable, Designated Agency and Agency/Organization Endowment Funds are assessed as follows:
- on the balance up to $999,999 (1% of the corpus value per annum, charged quarterly (.25% per quarter) based on value at end of quarter. (A minimum of $100 per year.)
- on the balance of $1 million to $4,999,999 (0.75% of the corpus value per annum, charged quarterly (.1875% per
quarter) based on value at end of quarter.
- on the balance of over $5 million (.50% of the corpus value per annum, charged quarterly (.125% per quarter) based on value at end of quarter.
Unrestricted, Field of Interest and Scholarship Funds are assessed as follows:
- 1% of the corpus value per annum, charged quarterly (.25%
per quarter) based on value at end of quarter. (A minimum of $100 per year.) Each fund is allowed twelve (12) distributions per year. The fund is assessed $25 per distribution thereafter.
Pass-through Contributions can be accommodated and are usually (almost immediately) granted to another organization(s). (These differ from named, Non-Endowed Funds from which grants are made over a period of time.) Pass-through Contributions are usually established and accompanied with an immediate grant request. Pass-through Contributions must be on deposit at the Foundation for ten (10) business days before any disbursements are made.
Depending on circumstances and objectives, Pass-through Contributions can be used to formally establish Endowed or Non-Endowed Funds and are thus subject to the aforementioned Fee Schedule. Otherwise, Pass-through Contributions are not assessed a fee, but are assessed $50 per distribution.
From time to time, there is an interest in planning fundraising events and solicitations for the benefit of: (1) an alreadyestablished component Fund, or (2) for the purpose of establishing a component Fund [short-term (special project) or permanent]. Generally, this generates contributions from several sources. Community Foundation of Acadiana has established a “Fundraising Policy for Component Funds at the Foundation” to govern all fundraising in which a component Fund benefits.
The fee shall be equal to the greater of two percent (2%) of the total gifts to the Fund each year or two percent (2%) of the balance of the Fund annually. The minimum fee is $500.00 annually.
