- Community Foundation of Acadiana was established in 2000 as a ‘donor-focused’ Foundation that exists to satisfy the charitable needs in the community AND the charitable objectives of our donors.
- Our primary service area is an eight-parish area in south-central Louisiana, including Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermilion Parishes. While this is our ‘primary’ service area, it should be noted that this service area does not limit our ability to receive gifts and/or make grants outside of this primary service area.
- In its first seven years, Community Foundation of Acadiana has attained assets exceeding $21 million.
- Over the last few years, the Foundation has made grants exceeding $3.2 million.
- The Foundation has the capacity to make grants for anything charitable. Grants can be made to fields of interests such as the Arts, Education, Health & Human Services, Environment, Disaster Relief, Community Development, Parks and Green Spaces, etc. (In some cases, the Foundation might be an alternative to the establishment of a separate non-profit entity.)
