Supporting the causes and institutions you believe in is important to you. You want an easy and flexible way to satisfy your charitable objectives which may include maximizing your tax deductions, involving your family, a tasteful level of recognition, or perhaps complete anonymity. If you’re serious about charitable giving, there is a simple way for you to make a permanent difference and leave a lasting legacy for yourself and your family – Community Foundation of Acadiana.
Community Foundation of Acadiana is a tax-exempt, non-profit, non-sectarian public charity that provides individuals, families, corporations and foundations, in Acadiana, a visionary and rewarding approach to philanthropy – immediately and in perpetuity. Because we are donor-focused, our singular mission is to ensure each donor’s legacy is wisely invested, each grant is effective and that a donor’s family name is proudly preserved forever. As a ‘public’ foundation, as opposed to a ‘private’ (family) foundation, Community Foundation of Acadiana provides maximum tax benefits for donors.
The Foundation is not the end-beneficiary! As a result, it can respond to long-standing as well as to new and emerging local needs under its broad charitable mandate. Over the last 90 years, very successful models have demonstrated this as over 650 such foundations have emerged throughout the country (see www.communityfoundationlocator.org) providing unprecedented charitable benefit to the communities they serve. Community Foundation of Acadiana is the premier community-based philanthropic organization for Acadiana.
- Personalized Service – By accepting a wide variety of gifts and fashioning the appropriate fund, we facilitate the charitable and creative giving of our donors.
- Local Expertise – The Leadership of the Foundation is comprised of locals who know the needs and are committed to improving our community by generating necessary resources and matching donors with needs.
- Community Leadership – Through building endowments, supporting high-impact opportunities, identifying charitable needs and serving as a catalyst and convener, the Foundation plays a key community leadership role.
